"We had a very successful turkey hunt using GPS coordinates provided by the cabin manager. We hunted on private and public land and got RIO Grandes in both  areas. We filled our tags quickly and even hunted some turkeys with a farmers tag. We will be repeat customers." Greg, 2006.

Jeff,
Everything went great. Did not spend a lot of time at the Cabin except to sleep, though I did sleep late a couple of those days. :-)
I hunted 13 days straight with my dog from TX to Western OK, to Kansas. Stayed in a tent, motels, and your cabin.I have a set of 7 emails that I shared with family and friends. Day 5 through 13 are about days I was inKansas. Links to pictures are mixed in the naratives. Easiest will be for me to just forward that block of emails to you.Thank you for sharing your Family Cabin with us. I fully enjoyed it and was
impressed at how friendly the locals were, be it everyday people, hunters, and even the local game warden was extremly nice to
me.

We had a good time, but it took a lot of driving around and lost time to finally find where the birds were.  We ended up going north 45 miles from the cabin up around Downs and Cawker City to find them.  That area evidently got a lot more moisture than around Sylvan Grove.   I don't think any of the guys took any pictures that would do you any good on your website.  The one thing that was impressive was the thousands of light geese that were around the Glen Elder Reservoir.  We have a lot of Canadas around here, especially just west of my home where there is a big game refuge with controlled shooting.   However, I have only seen the number of light geese I saw in Kansas one other time down in Arkansas when I was on a trip to see my parents in San Antonio.  Several of the fields along the highway near Stutgart had thousands upon thousands of snow geese. I would offer two suggestions for the cabin, which was more than comfortable for our stay.  Keep or get some more chairs like Jason brought over for us, as the soft chairs were no good for indoor use, especially at the table.  Also, there were no plates and we had to eat out of bowls until we bought some plastic ones up north.   It would also help if there were a couple bigger pots and a frypan in the kitchen.  Jason had opened the cabin for us, but he hadn't turned the heat on and the water heater was also off until I turned it up when one of the guys got a cold shower the first morning!    The first night the guys sleeping in the bedrooms thought they were outdoors, but they survived!  We went over to the farm that Jasons parents have the last afternoon and it sure looks like the perfect spot for turkies the way the river winds through the place.  We thought the dry weather had probably hurt the pheasant population near your cabin as there just wasn't the cover they need.  I think we are going back to North or South Dakota next year, but we will keep you in mind.  Thanks and you have a Happy New Year too---MIKE
